Beautiful Stone Cottages in the heart of the West Country

Tuell Farm is a beautiful tranquil place to visit, to relax, unwind and recover from the pace of every day life. Located just outside Milton Abbot, the cottages nestle on our farm, in the undiscovered Tamar Valley, between Tavistock and Launceston.

The cottages have been recently restored from ancient barns, to the highest standards, to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Walk through apple orchard and fields, meet out rare breed farm animals; chickens, sheep, Dartmoor ponies, and see spectacular views of Bodmin Moor to the right, Dartmoor to the Left and the Devon village of Sydenham Damerel nestled in the valley below; an undiscovered haven of peace.

Tuell Farm Cottages

Thank you for this lovely post, and super photos. We are very happy to have been of help to a lovely family. xxx"To the Something To Look Forward To team,

Thank you so much for the lovely week away we spent in Tuell Farm Cottages near Tavistock.

Having been poorly for 10 months it was great to have this to look forward to at the end of my treatment, it made a big difference to me.

When I got ill I worried about our finances and you made it possible for us to have a family holiday, this was just brilliant.

I went to Horseshoe Cottage with my Husband and 14 year old twins Kyle and Lauren, we spent quality family time together, with no trips to the hospital, doctors or nurses.

Horseshoe cottage is a fantastic property and was perfect for our size family, we enjoyed the countryside and many day trips exploring the local area.

Thank you so much for making this possible for us."

About Us

The self catering cottages at Tuell Farm, set in the Tamar Valley, near Tavistock, Devon, are situated in a beautiful tranquil setting; a special place to relax, unwind and recover from the pace of every day life. The self catering cottages have been recently restored from ancient barns, to the highest standards, to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible.

At Tuell Farm, hidden inside our apple orchard, is Hagrid’s fireplace. On a warm evening, you can light an outdoor fire in the raised fireplace, sit on Hagrid’s rocking bench, and cook sausages or have a picnic, surrounded by deep Devon countryside, with just the noise of the birds singing, as the sun sets. There is a large trampoline in the orchard for the children, and a slide & tree swing; the perfect place to shed the busy rush of town or city, job or school, commuting or travelling. Unwind & relax and feel you are at one with nature & your holiday.

Walk through our apple orchard and fields, paddle in the stream, watch the buzzards overhead, meet our rare breed Grey Face Dartmoor Sheep and free range chickens. We have plenty of animals to see and a swing and trampoline in the orchard. Well behaved dogs are welcome, (on lead in the farmyard due to the chickens!) We have plenty of fields for dog walking, & Dartmoor nearby for proper trekking.

Tuell Farm was chosen for its beautiful location, and unique potential to be a restorative place to visit. Owned by the Hulme-Teagues, and often frequented by visiting friends, we would like to give you that same welcome to our cottages, for a relaxing stay, to unwind from the hustle and bustle of busy lives.

Restorative Treatments such as Japanese Reflexology, Massage & Homeopathy will be available to all holiday makers during their stay, by arrangement.

We have 2 orchards from which we make organic apple juice and cider, with nothing added or taken away. A complimentary bottle will be given to you for your stay.

Our long term plan for Tuell Farm is to be a centre where families, with a similar challenge in their lives, can get together and share a week’s holiday in each of the cottages. We have a large barn called Chapel Barn, still to convert, that will become a meeting place for the Centre and will also be available as a gathering space for the local community to hire. All proceeds, from the holiday lets will eventually go to fund the Centre. We have quite a task ahead of us!
